I saw this Datsun pickup tonight! The exposure went all crazy so I kind of had to improvise and make it stylized. P.S. As much as I like the 35mm ƒ/2.8, it’s not really a car photography lens.

Your improvisation is working. Pic looks solid. Where (in the states?) is this?

They’re very good, any flare imperfections you see are pretty much the fault of the polarizer. that said, the 55 focuses much faster in the dark due to it having a ƒ/1.8 aperture.

So considering you say the 35 is not a good car lens what would you consider a good car lens? I tend to prefer to go wider, 24 on APS-C is pretty good for me.

35 is not a bad length! Just one that can only go to f/2.8 is. You can hardly get any background blur. If you want to do an enviromental photo, like that above, the 2.8 is useful. As opposed to my 55mm, It’s very hard to get any depth of field. However some of that may come with the fact I’ve gotten so used to using a 50mm or 50mm equiv that I’m still on the learning curve with the 35. That said, the 35mm f/2.8 is a sweet lens that will be my primary travel/street lens!
